Mid-week haul: Bobbi Brown and Urban Decay *with a mini review*

I had a little store credit to spend... So here's what I picked up before the weekend :)

  • Bobbi Brown Shimmerbrick in Pink Quartz
  • Bobbi Brown Long wear cream shadow in Goldstone
  • Urban Decay Summer of Love Palette

On to my little review/ comparison between BB's Shimmerbricks & TBS's Shimmerwaves!

First off, I want to apologize for the poor lighting. It's at night now and it's difficult to take a good picture. Especially swatches of glow-y powders. :( All pictures were taken w/o flash, under a bright (white light) study lamp.

So here's my mini comparison between the two highlighting powders! HTHs!

In the pan, the powders already look different. The texture of the TBS SW is rather hard and difficult to swipe product onto my brush. Whereas the BB SB is soft and the powder is easily picked up by the brush. I am using MAC's 138 for applying SB on my cheeks.

Shimmer wise, BB's show up as fine shimmer whereas TBS's shows up with a metallic sheen. The glow is softer with the BB. TBS has alot of silver sheen. It kinda accentuates my pores more than BB's.

In terms of lasting power, BB's colours do show up darker as my makeup wears through the day. Means I can use it as a blush (except for Pink Oyster). TBS just remains as it is- silver. No colour at all.

Price wise:
TBS retails at $36.90 for 8.5g
BB retails at $66 for 10.3g

Both are made in Italy. BB's being handmade individually. Not too sure about TBS's.

Overall, BB's is much more expensive than TBS's. But you pay for what you get. In terms of texture and colour payoff. So BB's still my fav. Or I could just be biased. Hahaha!

Hope you enjoyed this post!

While I was away: The damage.

Hi everyone! I've been away from blogger for *toooo* long. Been busy with school and work. But I still managed to sneak in shopping trips to unwind :) So here's an update on what I'm into *makeup wise* at the moment.

Recently, I've been buying more shimmer face products, especially those that come baked in their pans. I've also been "growing" my brush collection. The last brush I got was about 2 years ago? It was the 187 duo- fiber brush from MAC. I'm still loving it btw...

I'm also back into collecting MAC limited edition items *BAD ADDICTION*!!! :( I actually convinced myself to kick the habit 2 years ago. But after watching Lollipop26's videos, everything went down hill from there on.

Another bad addiction is collection nail polishes. I've tried out some really cheap but fantastic brands such as L.A. Girl and Sally Hansen- lovin' them. I will talk about my nail polish addiction in another post :x

So here's my collective haul- what I've got over the past month or so.

Bobbi Brown Shimmerbrick- Nectar & Pink Oyster
Bobbi Brown Illuminating Bronzer- Maui
Bobbi Brown Bronzer brush

The Bodyshop Baked Bronzers and Baked eyeshadow

Topshop makeup, which is new in Singapore! Got their bronzer and eyeshadow to try.

See what I told you about my MAC addiction?!

MAC 180
MAC 130
MAC brush set
Soften the mood trios
Jazzed Lipstick
Phloof! eyeshadow
Mineralism eyeshadow

And my first ever Chanel Nail Colour in Paradoxal. From their Fall Collection. Love.

Talk to you guys later! :)
