Comedogenic Ingredients in skin care

Comedogenic ingredients are contents in skincare which have the tendency to cause acne.

One example would be a recent purchase of mine :(

Sodium chloride ranks tops in the highly comedogenic category! :(

See here for the list of comedogenic ingredients.

I'm so sad! Other wise I would love this product very much. It really does control the oil in my T-zone area. It has been giving me more clogged pores than usual :( I think after only 3 days of use of this makeup base, I have had 7 under-the-skin pimples. *argh*

I'm on a look out for a good light lotion for acne prone skin.

Any recommendations?

I was thinking of trying Cetaphil's Lotion since I've been loving their cleanser. There seem to be good reviews with a few bad ones on makeup alley. Any of you guys used it before? Do share your thoughts and opinions on it :) Thanks!

And a random picture below:

Treat of the day for my skin is a DIY thermal water mask :)

Love this product to bits.

New love: A tiny heart

Rose gold with a tiny diamond...

A Second chance for Stage Angel Lash

After being disappointed with how Stage's Angel Lash Mascara turned out for me, I left it to "die" in a corner of my makeup stash. Haha, can't think of a better word to describe it.

Then I was watching The Current Custom on Youtube, and Lorraine said that she LOVED Shiseido's mascara base, which I had lying some where in my mascara stash too. So I dug it out to test drive it with Stage's Angel Lash Mascara.

And viola!

Holds the curl for the whole day! *I love you Shiseido!* This mascara makes every stinking mascara work!!! *yay!*

These pictures were taken after a full day of work. So the curl lasted for 10 hours!!! *amazing!* No smudging too! :)

I was at Sasa the other day *doing my haul thing- guilty!* and the SA asked what mascara I was using. So I took out my makeup pouch and kinda "promoted" this mascara base to her. Hahaha... it's like as if I became the SA :p

She said she'll drop by the Shiseido counter during her dinner break to take a look at the product :) *I'm an enabler*

Mission accomplished.

Sasa Haul again :)

I needed *wanted* a new concealer to hide some acne scars which are taking forever to heal... Read on Makeupalley that theBalm's Time Balm Concealer is really good. Great coverage, blends well, good colour selection. Sounds like HG material.

Every concealer that I have right now turns up orange on my skin. Not sure if I'm the only one with this problem?

So to make sure I got the shade suitable for my skin tone, I tried the tester out on my face. In the store. With the SA dabbing her *most probably dirty* fingers on my face. I know!!! Gross! But I didn't want to spend $$$ on another product which isn't suitable for me :(

I got it in the shade Lighter than Light, which is the lightest shade available out of 6 shades.

I really don't fancy the no-frills, plastic container which houses the concealer. :( Looks soooo unattractive!

Got the Neogence Skincare Set. Contains my HG hydrating serum, a toner, HA cream and makeup base. The main reason I got this was for the makeup base. It isn't sold seperately.

The set was reasonably priced. It was just $5 more expensive than the original price of the hydrating serum alone. Such a great deal!

On the back.
More Neogence stuff! I'm in LOVE with this brand! Their skincare range is really affordable, and are of high quality. All the products are non-fragranced! *me likey!*

Got the whitening toner and serum to lighten acne scars and tiny freckles :) So far it's been working well!

And here's the makeup base.

1 pump!

Moisturized skin :) *love*

Lastly, I got a box of Sasatinnie Sheet masks to try. The rest of the sheet masks were give to be by my bestie!

On the behind...My HG Silkwhitia was not on BOGO anymore... so I decided to try a cheaper alternative. Sasa's masks are made in Taiwan and retails for $14.90 for a box of 6.

And that's the end of my haul! No more hauling for the time being :) will concentrate on PTP2!

Project 10 Pan 2

Recently, I've been hauling too much stuff, both skin care and makeup. :( My poor bank account has been suffering, so are the drawers for storing my makeup/ skin care!

So, I've been working on doing PTP silently. No pressure this time :) I'll be doing both PTP for skincare and makeup.

Here are the items which are done!

Starting with skincare items:

So that makes it 3 out of 10 skincare items :)

And on to makeup stuff:

There still some left in the tube which needs to be scrapped out, but I'm counting this in as I'm too lazy to dig the rest out :P I'll probably buy one of those DIY lip palettes to store the remaining product bits when I hit 5 or so lippies.

And 4 out of 10 makeup items!!!

Some stuff which are in the process of completion :D

My Paul & Joe pressed powder broke while being knocked around in my purse! So I transferred it to my Dior powder case :)

And that's all for PTP round 2! I've been pretty good recently. Skipping out on the Shiseido sale, Benefit sale and Isetan sale!! I would have spent a fortune on unnecessary stuff if I had gone to every sale there was last week! D:

Will update soon :)

Is anyone doing PTP at the moment?

100th post! MAC's Pret a papier haul

A simple haul post :) self explanatory with the pictures...

Extra freebies I got with a purchase of $80 and above at the Pret a papier launch event was a lipglass and a $10 voucher, which I used on the spot to get the Prep and Prime setting powder.

Eyeshadows in Tissueweight & Gazzet Grey. Paint pot in Coral Crepe.

Un-named lipglass! Since I got this as a freebie, the SA tore out the label at the bottom :( Any one can help me identify this lipglass?

Swatch below...
And here's a look at the Prep and Prime setting powder.

Very finely milled. But I think it's causing me to break out? :( I haven't used it long enough to confirm that. Will do an update on that...

Maybelline's Pulse Perfection Mascara

I walked into Watson's today and spotted Maybelline's Limited Edition *ARGH!* mascara...

Should I get it?! I was hesitant to get it because of it's price tag! Whooping SGD$29.90!! D:

*cries*

A regular Maybelline mascara would cost SGD$18.90.

Now... is it worth the money??? Has anyone tried it out? Is it a winner? Or one that belongs in the bin? Let me know in the comments section!

So the big question is...SHOULD I GET IT?!

Poll on the side bar ladies!!! Help me out!

I had a hauling good day!

More stuff from The Body Shop!

They were having a sale up to 60% off at Plaza Singapura. Most of the stuff on sale were small travel sized body washes, lotion, balms etc... only a small section was dedicated to cosmetics.

Here's what I left with :)

Upon spending $50, I was entitled to a $10 voucher. :D
The terms and conditions really made me pissed off! It was stated that the voucher was only to be used within 7 days of issue, only valid at The Body Shop branch at Plaza Singapura and must be only used to purchase a single item. Grrr...

Sooo, I didn't want to spend more $$$ after the sale, I settled at getting an item worth around $10. In the end, I got an eye mask which costs $9.90. :) I've always wanted one of these!

It can be used either warm or cold. Leave it in the fridge or in a dish of warm water to heat up. Looking forward to try this out!!!

I also got some cosmetic stuff :) *trust me, PTP part 2 is on its way* haha...

More Nature's Mineral stuff! Since it was on promotion, I got a backup of the foundation! I really love this powder!!! I also got a blush from the Nature's Mineral range :) Lovely, shimmery colour!
Went into Etude House *Love* and got the second last palette left on the shelf. LUCIDarling Fantastic Gradation Eyes in 2 Bougainvillea Pink.

Pretty packaging!

And of course... with beautiful girly colours.

And that's the end of my haul! Hope you enjoyed it!

I should probably go on cold turkey now. Hahaha...

Review: Essential Rich Premier Ultra Honey & Shea Butter Mask

I recently purchased this hair mask to pamper my poor tresses... After rebonding, my hair was really dry and weak. Especially at the ends... they broke off really easily :(

The texture of the mask was really thick! Feels really nourishing on the hair. Smells really nice too! I apply it to freshly washed hair, squeezing out the excess water, then apply a thick layer of hair mask concentrating on the ends. Leave it on for 5 minutes.

It rinses it off easily and doesn't make my bathroom floor slippery. :D

Pros:
  • Affordable!
  • Nice fragrance *mmmmm~*
  • Moisturizes the ends of my hair well
  • Does not make my hair feel limp
  • Leaves my hair very smooth and soft after every treatment
Cons:
  • The tub packaging, wish it was in a tube!
Now, all I lack is a hair steamer at home
