On to my little review/ comparison between BB's Shimmerbricks & TBS's Shimmerwaves!
First off, I want to apologize for the poor lighting. It's at night now and it's difficult to take a good picture. Especially swatches of glow-y powders. :( All pictures were taken w/o flash, under a bright (white light) study lamp.
So here's my mini comparison between the two highlighting powders! HTHs!
In the pan, the powders already look different. The texture of the TBS SW is rather hard and difficult to swipe product onto my brush. Whereas the BB SB is soft and the powder is easily picked up by the brush. I am using MAC's 138 for applying SB on my cheeks.
Shimmer wise, BB's show up as fine shimmer whereas TBS's shows up with a metallic sheen. The glow is softer with the BB. TBS has alot of silver sheen. It kinda accentuates my pores more than BB's.

In terms of lasting power, BB's colours do show up darker as my makeup wears through the day. Means I can use it as a blush (except for Pink Oyster). TBS just remains as it is- silver. No colour at all.
Price wise:
TBS retails at $36.90 for 8.5g
BB retails at $66 for 10.3g
Both are made in Italy. BB's being handmade individually. Not too sure about TBS's.
Overall, BB's is much more expensive than TBS's. But you pay for what you get. In terms of texture and colour payoff. So BB's still my fav. Or I could just be biased. Hahaha!
Hope you enjoyed this post!
:) I'm a little like you too!!! if the manufacturing is made in china, i'm like: wait?
ReplyDeletebut then if it's made in ITALY~ it must be better! hehe
(oh I dont know if TBS or that product is made in china or anything! i am just using it as an example~^^)
@Liz: Ahhh yes, I avoid Made in China products, especially when it comes to cosmetics :x No offence to anyone! It's just my preference!
ReplyDeleteHahah you guys are so funny about the "Italy" thing...but I totally am too! I use to use Physician's Formula for so long because I was told it was made in Italy...turns out a lot of makeup is made in Italy so I've branched out quite significantly since then lol
ReplyDeletewhat an amazing collection
