Review: Majolica Majorca Mascara (Lashes My Lashes Extend Elegantly)

They've got that right!! It really does extend my lashes elegantly!

Pictures of the mascara on my lashes:
  • Curled with Shiseido's Eyelash Curler
  • No primer
  • 2 coats of the mascara

What I like about the mascara:
  • Extends my lashes beautifully (fibres) without clumping!
  • Holds the curl super well!
  • Some how I like this better than the Frame Plus Version :p
  • Doesn't flake
  • I love the comb brush
  • Reasonably priced
  • No smudging!
  • Though it's not the most volumnizing mascara in the market, it still managed to create attention grabbing lashes :)

What I don't like about the mascara:

  • Formula is very wet, making mistakes is a nightmare :(
  • Hard to remove!!!
  • Fibres may irritate contact lens users

I've been haul crazy lately!

This came as part of the Christmas Coffret from Esprique Precious! I have yet to try it out! Can't bear to swatch it in fear of ruining the pretty spray on design!! D:

Etude House Face Designing Brightener! It is a lovely highlighter :) one of the products which I use up the fastest would be highlighters! I love highlighting high up on the cheekbones, on the undereye area, nose bridge and cupid's bow! Makes me look less dead hahaha!

Such lovely packaging! I would say Etude House is my new LOVE! Their products are reasonably priced and have the cutest packaging!!!

Here's a "glowy" swatch :D. Subtle yet able to give enough glow to the skin. I love it! I'm being careful not to use up the star patterns on the powder hahaha! So I'm starting to use the product only on the top :p

Please remember to check out my blogsale!! I have added on some blushers for sale :)

Review: Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus

Pictures of the mascara on my lashes:
  • Curled with Shiseido's Eyelash curler
  • No primer
  • 2 coats of the mascara

What I like about the mascara:
  • Holds the curl SO well!!!
  • No smudging through out the day
  • Has tiny fibres to lengthen the lashes
  • No clumps
  • Doesn't flake
  • Reasonably priced
  • Separates the lashes nicely
What I don't like about the mascara:
  • The formula is too wet, making it hard to dry in between coats
  • Since the formula is wet, it is easy to make mistakes when I blink while applying it on
  • Fibres may not be suitable for contact lens users
  • Lacks volume :(
  • Hard to remove!!!! Similar with the other MM mascaras!!

Barry M Haul + Za mascara review

Here's another haul from overseas! :D 2 great packages in a week :)

I ordered 4 items:
  • Dazzle dust in DD98 Petrol Black
  • Nail Paint in Mulberry Pink
  • Lip Paint in Dolly Pink
  • Intense Eyeliner Pen in Black

Dazzle dust in DD98 Petrol Black

It is a beautiful colour. Black with blue or green shimmers. Depending on the angle you look at it. However, I don't see myself using this much since it's a loose powder shadow :( it's really troublesome!

Nail Paint in Mulberry Pink

Only 1 coat! Look at how pigmented this nail polish is! Even without a top coat, it is glossy. I'm still having it on my nail right now, it is day 3 and it has barely chipped!! I would say this is my favourite item out of all 4.

Lip Paint in Dolly Pink

Has a slight "waxy" scent to it. But I shall try to tolerate it just because I love the colour :)

Intense Eyeliner Pen in Black

Swatches of Lip Paint and Eyeliner Pen

The eyeliner is very smooth and long lasting! Lasted through out the tearing and sniffing while watching 2012 >.< Za's mascara lasted through the movie too! Haha..*I'm a tap*

The brush is also a comb brush, like Majolica Marjoca's mascaras and similar to Maybelline Cat Eyes too. Removes any excess mascara when pull it out of the tube, which is good, cos I won't have to wipe the excess off on a tissue.

The formula is good! Holds the curl well, doesn't flake or smudge. It is waterproof yet removes easily with cleansing oil. Only thing it lacks is volume, but that could be solved b layering another volumnising mascara on top :)

This is the mascara I reach for now adays! It isn't HG material but works well enough. At least better than Maybellines :p

Long awaited Beautymaker Haul!!! :D

Happiness comes in blue boxes. No I'm not referring to Tiffany & Co. (though that is another kind of happiness in a blue box). Hahaa...

It's Beautymaker!!!

I'm so happy with my haul! These were the items I got:
  • Skin Repair Wakening Gel
  • Aquamarine Hydrating Serum
  • Aquamarine Hydrating Eye Serum
  • Aqua Eye Concealer
  • Magic Concealer
  • Smooth Loose Powder
I won't be able to write full reviews on the the products just yet as I haven't used them. Instead I posted pics of the products and my first impressions about them :) ENJOY!!!

Aquamarine Hydrating Serum

Content: 30ml
Scent: Roses
Texture:
Light weight serum, absorbs well after a few rounds of massage. Non-sticky!

Skin Repair Wakening Gel

Content: 50g
Scent: Roses
Texture:
Cooling gel. A little heavier in texture as compared to the Aquamarine Hydrating Serum. Absorbs well after massaging it in. Non-sticky.

Aquamarine Hydrating Eye Serum

Content: 15ml
Scent: Roses
Texture:

Similar to the Aquamarine Hydrating Serum, just slightly more moisturising. Doesn't leave a sticky film on the skin, unlike some other eye creams/gels. Absorbs nicely. Not sure if it stings just yet as I've only tried it on my hands.

Here's a comparison of my skin after I've applied all 3 skincare items:

And the skin on my other hand:

The Aquamarine range does really plump up my skin!! There were lesser visible "wrinkles" on my left hand than on the right. Skin also appeared to be more translucent and glowy...! Can't wait to try this on my face, since it works well on my hands :p

Makeup items I got:

Aqua Eye Concealer in #1

It's a little too dark for me :( even though it's in shade #1. I will try this out on my under eye area.. if it doesn't work for me I'll be letting this baby go :'(

Magic Concealer in Ivory

This comes in a click pen. Shade is a better match for me... Coverage seems to be better than the Christian Dior's which I recently got.

Smooth Loose Powder

Haven't opened this yet. I love the puff! It's very soft! The huge "crystal" on the top is pretty too! Hope the texture of the powder is as fine as my Paul & Joe's :D

So that's my haul!! I will do full reviews after I've used these products for long enough. All of them look promising!! I'm so tempted to get more Beautymaker stuffs now!!!

Maybelline Cat Eyes Mascara Vs Active Girl Max Volume Mascara... FIGHT!

This review is specially for Jessy! :) and of course for those who are interested in mascara comparisons :D

Today I'll be comparing Maybelline Cat Eyes Mascara Vs Active Girl Max Volume Mascara...
May the best mascara WIN! :D

Bare lashes... Typical asian kind of lashes, straight lashes, sparse, lacks volume.

Curled with Shiseido Eyelash curler (my HG!!) 2 coats of Maybelline Cat Eyes Mascara.

Front view:
Side view:
Curled, and applied 2 coats of Active Girl Max Volume Mascara

Front view:
Side view:
My vote:

I would definitely choose Active Girl's Mascara. It holds the curl better, builds more length and volume. May be a little bit clumpy but that's because I had this for more than 4 months already. :x should be tossing it out soon. But I love it too much :(

Maybelline's mascara just didn't manage to hold the curl long enough. After a few minutes I could see that my lashes loses its curl :( and it doesn't build enough volume or length. It's a good "everyday" work mascara as it is cheaper. But if you are looking for something dramatic, I suggest you try other mascaras... Probably this would work better with Shiseido's Mascara Base as it holds the curl pretty well.

As for ease of removal, Maybelline's mascara is much easier to remove. As with all Japanese mascaras (I wonder what they put in their mascaras?!), Active Girl's mascara is a PAIN to remove. I would rub my lashes with Fancl's Mild Cleansing Oil (another HG of mine!) for about a minute or so, and I could still feel the curl intact! haha...it's like getting a perm :)

Packaging & brush wise, I love Maybelline's pink cap + comb type brush. Lesser mistakes with that :)

I hope you have found this review useful!! Will do more mascara comparisons if there are readers who are interested :D

Blogsale haul from Kathi & my long awaited Beautymaker haul!!!

I should be studying for my exams right now. But NOTHING can stop me from doing some makeup shopping :p thanks to blogsales and paypal :D

Pics from http://lotuspalacesales.blogspot.com/

Things I got from Kathi!! I love her blogsales! But her items get snapped up really fast!!! Managed to get these at a great deal! Wanted to get 2 more items, but I changed my mind as shipping was really expensive in her country. Really excited on getting her stuff!!!

I also got a mini haul from Panasiabeauty.com. A bunch of Barry M stuff... there's a promotional price of $1.50 for shipping, so I took the opportunity to try out Barry M. Many beauty bloggers rave about this UK brand! Exciting!!! :D

Here's what I got:
  • Dazzle dust in DD98 Petrol Black
  • Nail Paint in Mulberry Pink
  • Lip Paint in Dolly Pink
  • Intense Eyeliner Pen in Black
And last but not least, I've got news that my Beautymaker haul has reached Singapore!!! :D Yay!!!! Hopefully it would reach my doorstep on Monday morning!

Looks like I'll have to stop shopping for a while! :(
