Body Scrub Haul- The Body Shop

Citrus-y goodness in a scrub!

Pink Grapefruit Body Scrub
&
Satsuma Body Polish

Smells so good! Like I'm eating a juicy grapefruit as I shower!
The texture is like that of grains of gritty sugar in a shower gel.
Rinses away easily without leaving the body coated with any residue.
Skin is left soft and smelling delicious!
Caution not to use this every single day. Once a week would be ideal.
I usually use this on a Sunday!
*Sunday is my DIY Spa day*

The body polish is not as gritty as the body scrub.
Great for daily use without being too harsh.
This left me smelling like oranges! In a good way!

I usually wait to get my items from The Body Shop during their warehouse sales!
Grapefruit Body Scrub - $16
Satsuma Body Polish - 2 for $9.90

An update: SK II Skincare

Sorry for the very delayed update on my SK II skincare haul.
I'm sure many of you were eagerly waiting for me to review these items in proper.
My skin was breaking out on and off while using these products,
so I wanted to be sure that the SK II products weren't the culprit.
I used the products for 2 weeks consecutively, then stopped for a week to see if any break outs went away.

So here are my honest thoughts about the products.

Please bear in mind, what works for me might not work for you and vice versa. I have sensitive acne prone skin which is dehydrated at the same time. The place most prone to blemishes and clogged pores would be my cheeks. My forehead and chin rarely breaks out.

Facial Treatment Mask
Moisturizes well. Skin is plump after one application.
My skin whitened so much that it made my dark circles around my eyes look super dark!
Highly recommended!
The ingredients in this mask is minimal, so it should be safe for sensitive skins.
I did not suffer any bad reaction from this product even though my skin is sensitive.

Facial Treatment Clear Lotion
This acts as a toner.
It cleans the skin well by removing every single last trace of makeup and preps it to absorb the Treatment Essence.
My skin did feel brighter after 2 weeks of use.
There seemed to be lesser clogged pores on my cheeks too.
However after the initial 2 weeks of use, I started developing a mild break out.
I stopped using this product to see if this was the cause of it,
but the break outs still persist.
-confused-

Facial Treatment Essence
The star product of their whole range of skincare.
This essence promised to balance out the skin, making it not too oily or dry.
However, I did not feel that it balanced out the oilyness in my skin.
I have used this patted all over my face with my palms and soaked with cotton pads to place all over my face as a sheet mask.
I enjoyed it most as a sheet mask as I really felt my skin "drinking" in all the goodness.
It did make it feel moist and plump.
First 2 weeks of usage went well. My skin was well hydrated.
When I stopped it for a week because of the break outs,
I noticed that my skin was not as plump as it used to be and it went back to its original dehydrated state.

Overall thoughts
  1. Great for skins with little concern for blemishes and wish to improve overall clarity and hydration of the skin.
  2. Works well for normal to dry skins.
  3. The mask is great for dull skin tones which need a perk-me-up. It really brightens!!

I hoped you have found this review some what helpful. What I would really recommend is to invest in the sheet masks. I'll probably get that once I'm done with all the 6 boxes of My Beauty Diary Bird's Nest Masks. Overall, I wouldn't repurchase the other items from the SK II range as it does not target my greatest concern which are the clogged pores on my cheeks and red acne scarring. But if hydration is your biggest concern, I would recommend you give SK II a go!

I will finish using up these items and will move on to other brands targeted for blemish prone skins.

Look out for my next skincare haul coming up!

Empties (Feb)- A quick review

Empties for the month of February!

Essential Ultra Honey & Shea Butter Hair Mask:
Wonderful hair mask at dirt cheap price!
Reviewed here.

The Body Shop Extra Virgin Minerals Powder:
New holy grail loose powder foundation. This is an improved version of their
previous mineral foundation. The undertone of the powder is less pink and
more neutral. Texture is also light and blendable. Most importantly it does not
break me out!
Will most definitely repurchase!

HABA SQUA Powder Wash:
This was too drying for my skin. Will not repurchase.
I used this to wash my makeup sponges in order to use this up!

The Body Shop Rainforest Radiance:
This is a conditioner for coloured hair. I got 4 bottles of 60ml each in
one of their sales. This conditioner did not condition my hair well at all.
Each bottle would only last me a week as I had to use a whole lot of product
before it would even untangle my hair!
Will not be repurchasing!

Fancl Lotion AC Sample:
Lovely toner for acne prone skin. I applied two samples onto my forehead which
was getting all bumpy for some strange reason and it flattened the bumps considerably.
Will get this during my birthday month to take advantage of their member perks.

Crabtree & Evelyn Lavender triple milled soap:
Smells really relaxing and it is easy to rinse off. Besides the lavender scent,
it is pretty much an ordinary piece of soap to me.

Guardian Kid's Wipes:
Another pack gone. :)

Kiehl's Ultra Light Daily UV defense Sample:
This sunscreen is very light and does not feel sticky! After trying out this 5ml sample
for a week or so, I decided to get the full sized product (30ml).
I really love Kiehl's as they generously give out samples of their products for
their customers to try out before buying.
This does not make me break out and has a high SPF of 50 PA+++
with UVA protection.

Watsons Soft Square Puffs:
Ordinary cotton squares. These are really cheap. However, it is not of the best quality.
I use this with my Simple toner, or soak it with Avene's Thermal Spring Water
and separate the cotton squares to use it as a sheet mask.

Items tossed:

One silver eyeliner.
3 Lippies which were getting old. They're starting to smell waxy!

Skincare haul & review- Fancl Mild Cleansing Oil

What's in the bag? <3

Fancl's Mild Cleansing Oil

Taken off their website:

PRODUCT INFORMATION

Makeup removal is now blissfully easy with FANCL Mild Cleansing Oil. This powerful formulation now comes enriched with Meadow Foam Oil which aids the removal of keratin plugs over time for a clearer, smoother complexion.

HOW TO USE
  • Pump twice or about 50-cent coin size amount onto clean palm.
  • Smooth oil over face and gently massage into makeup and grime.
  • Rinse thoroughly with water or lukewarm water.
  • Follow by regular facial wash routine.

Does it deliver?
This has been my staple for years!
Once I strayed to try out Missha's Cleansing Oil and totally regretted it.
Fancl's MCO easily removes all traces of makeup.
I use this every end of the day.
I take 1 and a half pumps, spread it between my palms then massage it onto my dry face.
Removes waterproof mascara and lipstick together with my mineral foundation.
I then follow up with my Cetaphil cleanser.

Btw, this stuff even removes MJ's mascara which is notoriously known
to be difficult to remove!

This is their limited edition Cupid design. Probably for Valentine's day?
I liked that it came with a 20ml travel size. Which means it's more value for money :)

Close up of the pretty design

Ingredients list for those who are interested :)

As with all Fancl's products, this MCO does not contain any preservatives.
A 120ml bottle should be completely used up within 120 days after opening.

Cute stickers are included in the box!
You can write the date which you started using this product and it's use by date.

Price:
120ml- SGD$33.00
Two bottles of 120ml- SGD$62.00
60ml- SGD$19.00

Will I repurchase?
Yes, already have!
I usually get 2 bottles at a go as it is slightly cheaper.

I've never tried Shu Uemura's Oil Cleanser. But I think it is quite pricey as
compared to Fancl's.
What oil cleansers do you use? :)

Products on Probation

In replacement for the "death" of my HG powder foundation, I got the Ettusais BB Mineral Powder.

Something for those pesky red acne marks.

Sunscreen is necessary if an acid is used in your skincare routine.
It is also the best anti-aging product you can ever have.

Prevention is better than cure!

Will review these products in the coming weeks!
We'll see who makes the cut!

Good Morning Beauties!

Beautiful design.
